Report on Establishing a Specialized Court in Iraq for Da'esh Crimes

The 32-page report analyzes constitutional constraints on the creation of a specialized court in Iraq and examines the purpose of transitional justice, the importance of due process, the right to defense, the role of victims in the process, gender perspectives on law and judicial process, civil society participation, and the establishment of a victim care unit and a fund for reparations.

The Lemkin Institute makes three main suggestions: constitutional reform, legal reform, and the inauguration of a long-term transitional justice project.
